ADS-B receiving system

「What is it?」

ADS-B technology combines advanced technologies such as satellite navigation, communication technology, airborne equipment, and ground equipment, providing a safer and more efficient means of air traffic surveillance. It can effectively enhance the situational awareness of air traffic controllers and pilots, expand the surveillance coverage, and improve the level of air traffic safety, airspace capacity, and operational efficiency.

ADS-B airborne equipment encodes information such as flight number, coordinates, altitude, and speed to generate ADS-B messages, which are broadcasted through the 1090ES data link. Upon receiving the signals, ground stations and aircraft in the surrounding airspace decode them to obtain various relevant information about the aircraft. Therefore, as long as the ground station is within the effective range and can decode correctly, the positioning accuracy of the aircraft is only related to the accuracy of the target aircraft's own coordinate sensor and altitude sensor, and is independent of factors such as target distance and echo that affect secondary radar angle and distance measurement.
ADS-B has higher accuracy and real-time performance than traditional radar surveillance methods, and can be used as a reference standard.
The ADS-B ground station works in conjunction with the ground omnidirectional antenna to receive ADS-B messages in DF17 format broadcast by aircraft and ground vehicles. After processing, it obtains precise information about the target's position, altitude, heading, speed, aircraft type, identification code, flight number, etc. All information is updated in real-time every second. Based on this, controllers can obtain real-time traffic conditions in the air.

「What can we do?」

FLY RADAR is a professional receiver specifically designed for receiving ADS-B signals. It can receive 1090MHz ADS-B signals and decode them into information that can be recognized by surveillance software. It can be used for air traffic control surveillance and command, ground activity target surveillance, radar calibration, etc., and can replace secondary radar. Since the accuracy of ADS-B data is higher than that of radar, ADS-B data can be used to calibrate radar for radar calibration.
FLY RADAR can interpret all DF formats and A/C mode codes. The basic version of FLY RADAR can only interpret ADS-B information of DF17 and DF18. Customization is available through various channels. Please contact us for custom development.
